The Crash

Wow, it's been almost two weeks since Adult Entertainment closed and things are finally slowing down. We finished with a bang as we had to turn audiences away and sold out on Saturday (Yes, this crushed the little capitalist inside me).

The response from audiences and critics was so great that we were trying to find a venue to extend the run, but all for naught. One of the curses of such a vibrant theatre community is that every nook, cranny and store front is booked and over booked. (Though if there is an arts minded developer, land holder, out there we would be more than willing to rely upon the kindness of strangers and borrow your space for a few weeks).

I must be getting old though, because not only is the recovery time taking longer after a close, it's seeming much more needed. The back to back productions of Truculentus (which was damn funny in spite of being 2000 years old) and Adult Entertainment seem to have totally sapped the reserves, the bench warmers and even the water boy. The need to go fetal and watch Ferris Beuler's Day Off, War Games and Weird Science all weekend is strong.

Though their is no rest for the wicked, so, I should mention that our final show now has dates! One Night Stand: An Evening of One Act Plays will perform June 9, 10, 16 & 17 at the Creole Gallery. IF Executive Producer Fred Longacre, will be directing two original one act plays by IF ensemble members: Kevin L. Knights and Robin Harris.

Ah, now is the point where I find something pithy, witty and wise to close the post...
