Ensemble Member Sighting
Well, I guess it's come to this...
Encouraging folks to see my wife in bed with another man. How far I have fallen...
Ah, well, enough angst. Be sure to visit the Ledges Playhouse, www.ledgesplayhouse.com, to see Original IF ensemble member Laura Croff in Alan Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce directed by Kevin Burnham. You probably won't see her, but ensemble Marianne Bacon is also helping out with this production.
If you're chomping at the bit to see some in your face, challenging before challenging was cool (and coopted) theatre then mark your calendars for November 3, when IF returns to the Creole with Ctrl+Alt+Delete by Anthony Clarvoe.

Fresh Meat (Don't Worry, We're Vegan Friendly)
It's time once again for the annual rite of passage, season auditions. That's right, the sweaty palms, the flutters in the stomach and the remarkably harsh judging of all that we are.
I wish there was another way, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do a show without auditioning at least a few people to fill slots in each show. So, we're doing it again and hopefully it won't be too traumatizing.
On September 18 from 6-10 p.m., Icarus Falling will be holding auditions for its ".human" season. A season filled with premieres, multimedia and computers. Auditions will be at the Creole Gallery 1218 Turner St. Lansing, MI 48906. Auditioners are asked to bring a headshot and resume. A one minute contemporary monologue is preferred, but scenes will be available for cold reads, if necessary. Please schedule auditions by calling 517.290.4375 or emailing auditions@icarusfalling.com. If you aren't sure about your schedule, but want to stop by, we will fit you in as time allows.

No More Sex
Okay, maybe some, but we won't be obsessing like a teenage boy caressing the pages of a Sears catalog. This year we're getting edgy, we're getting creative, we're getting dramatic...
We're getting pretentious!!!
Well, hopefully not too much, but anytime someone starts talking about their art, you've got to expect a bit of self-congratulatory glad handing. That's what happens when geeks find an outlet, but they can't let anyone know that they are still just geeks with inferiority complexes.
Speaking of geeks, this whole season is dedicated to them.
Okay, well, maybe not, but we do have a season filled with computers, multi-media and dirty internet sites. So, it looks like the web search history of every non-Communications major at MSU. Maybe not the the CJ majors either, they tend to do pretty well with the ladies too.
In any case, enough rambling (for now)...
Drum roll please.....

This marks the return of a play originally commissionedby the Wharton Center. This is the story of the dot com boom and bust. The play takes place in the world of high finance between 1998 and 2000,and involves "The Gizmo." The Gizmo is the invention of a youngentrepreneur who has dreams of his piece of technology becomingsomething no one can live without. A venture capitalist gets wind of TheGizmo and has a plan that could add up to millions for him and the youngentrepreneur. In reality, what the twosome has created really is more ofa dream than anything else … a dream that comes crashing down, andtaking a multitude of investors down with them, like many dot-coms didduring that time.
