Let's Put on a Show!

Yes, it's that time again...

Time for a February frolic with one act plays. This time we have the pleasure of savoring the comic genius of Elaine May partnered with the unflappable Alan Arkin. The duo have provided us with three quixotic, chaotic and neurotic musings on "Who's on top?"

First, is "The Way of All Fish" as SaDonna White's business executive begins to wonder if she hasn't trapped herself in a dinner with a psychopath, played by IF ensemble member Amy Winchell. The two tilt back and forth struggling to see who has the upper hand.

Second, is "Virtual Reality" where IF ensemble member Jack Dowd's wise guy struggles to figure out whether he is working with an idiot or a control freak, played by Bob Murrell.

All four actors collide and careen through "In and Out of the Light" as a sex-starved dentist considers a tryst with his vapid over-sexed secretary. Meanwhile, the dentist's son prepares to come out on two very important issues and a neurotic patient needs immediate care.

Performances are at 1210 Turner St. in Lansing Shows are February 19, 20 & 26 at 8 p.m. and February 27 & 28 at 3 p.m.
